Our 2008 - 2009 Season:
Baby
Book by Sybille Pearson
Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr.
Music by David Shire
Based upon a story developed with Susan Yankowitz
Directed by Vicki Tripodo
Musical direction by Mary Beth McFall
Choreography by Kelly Mott-Sacks
October 31 - November 15, 2008

Is there anything more exciting, frightening and utterly transformational than impending parenthood? Baby, a smart, energetic musical with loads of charm and a score of show-stopping numbers, tells the story of three couples spanning three generations as they deal with the painful, rewarding and agonizingly funny consequences of this universal experience. It's the perfect musical for anyone who's ever had a baby... or anyone who's ever been one!

Doubt
By John Patrick Shanley
Directed by Chase Newhart
February 20 - March 7, 2009

It is 1964, shortly after the shock to the country of the Kennedy assassination. Principal Sister Aloysius is concerned about the potentially inappropriate actions of Father Flynn with a middle school black student, and decides to enlist the assistance of a younger teacher, Sister James, to look out for anything suspicious. John Patrick Shanley, who won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony for this play, challenges his audience to question everything, and raises more issues than he answers: Is Father Flynn innocent or guilty? What is the nature of doubt or of certainty? And are new, modern ways of looking at religion always better, or is there something to be said for tradition?

The Constant Wife
By W. Somerset Maugham
Directed by Rick Delaney
April 24 - May 9, 2009

W. Somerset Maugham's delightfully witty comedy of manners and mistresses of the very rich in 1920's London, tells the tale of a "modern" marriage. All of Constance Middleton's friends can't wait to tell her of her husband's affair with her best friend -- but clever Constance has a few ideas of her own about marriage, infidelity and female independence! When an old admirer shows up at her door, what's sauce for the gander may just turn out to be sauce for the goose.
